Xiaomi announces Redmi 2 for Rs. 6999 and Mi Pad at Rs. 12,999 in India
Xiaomi announced the much awaited Redmi 2 in India today at a launch event in Delhi on 12th March 2015. Xiaomi as a consumer electronics company has been doing quite well in India with phones like the Xiaomi Mi3, Redmi 1S, Redmi Note 4G and the new Mi4.
The new addition to the portfolio of devices that Xiaomi is selling in India seems to be a great addition and people are going to love it for sure.
We say that because the device offers so much when you compare it with the devices available in the price brackets that is same as the Redmi 2.
Talking about the specs, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 410 chip-set which brings 4G and 64-bit architecture which people are going to appreciate.

The camera of the Redmi 2 performs great. The 8 MP rear camera has a BSI sensor and the picture quality of the rear camera is better than any phones in this price range.

Front Facing camera
The front facing 2 MP camera will be loved by selfie lovers as the camera comes with a “Beautify” option that automatically detects and enhances certain parts of the pics and makes it look great.
The mode is on by default and the camera also has a timer so that you can just start the timer and adjust the camera to take a suitable pic in the meantime and you also won’t have to struggle for reaching the camera button while taking the pic.
Processor, RAM – Overall Performance
The phone is loaded with a Snapdragon 410 1.2 Ghz Quad Core chip which is a chipset with 64-bit architecture. This coupled with the 1 GB RAM seems to run the phone fine with no lag whatsoever while we used it at the event.
The phone runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with MIUI 6 on top of it and you have all the Google apps and services so that you are able to use the phone like any other Android phone in India.
MIUI 6 is a beautiful skin but it is a bit different from stock version of Android.
