The Best VR Apps for Sports – Use these apps to experience sports in Virtual Reality
Even a few years ago the concept of virtual reality was nothing but a distant memory. It was Google who first came up with a prototype, a virtual reality box, made from cardboard. One has put their phones in a slot and tie the contraption to their heads. Not all apps were compatible with the device and the user had to download some specific apps from the play store. This was the birth of the Virtual Reality. It wasn’t just 3D, but something more. The sensation that you are actually someplace else is a feeling best described by those who have experienced it first-hand. The Beta stage is over and presently the market is swarming with VR headsets from various manufacturers.
Here is a list of few sports apps that is best seen and experienced with VR.
- YouTube: It may not be an app per say, but the YouTube app for android and iOS now comes equipped with a VR setting. Of course, the video itself has to capture in such a setting for it to be completely experienced. For best results search your desired genre along with the keywords 360 or VR. The resulting videos won’t appear anything out of the ordinary at first. You have to go to the settings and enable the cardboard (google cardboard) option in order to view the video on virtual reality. The term cardboard was used during the prototype stage. Nowadays the cardboard option is renamed as “VR”. Sports fan will love this new experience of VR. It will be as if they themselves are present at the field where the particular sports are being held.
- Golf VR: This game or app is for those who don’t have the time to hit the lush green fields of a golf course. Instead, they can try their luck with a virtual setup. Due to the lack of hand controls the gameplay at the beginning may seem a little a buggy, but as the game progresses the player will feel more and more comfortable. This applies to all At the beginning of the game, the player is presented with a set of golf clubs to choose from. They have to do it by looking and focusing on them. In order to target the ball, one has to look down on it and to swing, the player has to look up. It’s easy and quite fun to play.
- VR Shooter: As the name suggests this particular app lets you play football in a virtual The player positions himself as a soccer player who is about to score a goal. Since the project is still in its infancy, a full-length gum, play is not possible. However, the app or the game only allows you to score goals, from a standing point.
- Bowling VR: let’s face it, there aren’t any such professional bowling alleys in most countries. This game aims to deliver the pristine bowling experience and bring it to you right at your home.
VR is a great experience but since it hasn’t been fully developed just yet I have a tip for those who like to watch and attend these sports events in a traditional way. There are many websites which you can use to virtually watch and track sporting events and have a look at every score in real time. You can even bet on sports such as football, golf & tennis which is a great thing in my opinion.
